Following a recent review of Southern United, the Board of Football South has decided to continue its support of all four Southern United teams. This decision was made after considering the feedback of stakeholders and financial imperatives. The general feedback to the Board was that stakeholders and members wanted Southern United to build on the progress it has made in past two years. Specifically Southern United provides footballers in the Federation an aspirational pathway and provides opportunities to develop capability in all sectors of the game. 

The Board would like to thank the staff of Southern United and Football South, players, coaches, clubs, fans, sponsors, funders and the entire football community for their continued support and raising many valuable questions and perspectives. Over the coming weeks the Board will respond to a number of these and provide more detailed plans for the future of Football South and Southern United.
