Southern United Academy – 2019

The Southern United Academy is entering its second year as the Talent Development Programme (TDP) for Boys & Girls in the Football South region. The SU Academy Programme is led by Football South’s FDO team alongside qualified coaches from around the Football South region. This year there will be four squads selected for the boys (13s, 14s, 15s, 16s) and two squads selected for the girls (14s & 16s). All information for Southern United Academy Trials are below.

The purpose of the Southern United Academy is to provide the Football South region with a Top-class Football Academy programme for identified talented players from 13 – 16 years old. Our aim is to Identify and select the best players (boys & girls) at each age group from the Football South region to train together regularly, in a competitive and challenging environment. There will be competitive match days against quality opposition on a regular basis throughout the year leading to National Age Group Tournament in December 2019.

Essentially our aim is to have an Academy Programme in the Football South Region for youth players, so they don’t have to leave the region in order to progress as a young footballer. We want the Southern United Academy programme to be a platform for our players to develop as young footballers and give them the tools to progress through the pathway to National Youth League, Men’s / Women’s National League and beyond.

 

Southern United Academy Trial Information

Boys

  • Saturday March 2nd          Tahuna Park, Dunedin
  • Saturday March 9th           Tahuna Park, Dunedin
  • *Further Trial information will be sent out via email, Football South Website and through Southern United Social Media platforms.

 

Girls

  • Sunday February 3rd                Logan Park, Dunedin
  • Sunday February 10th              TBC
